Dye Sublimation

What is Dye Sublimation?

Dye sublimation is a technology that has been around since the late 1980s. It’s a great finishing technique for custom apparel because it leaves the wearer with a unique, custom item that will never fade, crack, or peel.

Apparel Dye Sublimation be used on?

Dye sublimation is the most common method of printing on fabrics, especially sportswear. The dye sublimates into a gas during the process and diffuses into the fibers of the cloth without any chemical reaction. Once the dye has sublimated, it is permanently locked in place, making it the ideal process for printing onto garments, especially sports clothes and those made from other synthetic materials.

Advantage of Dye Sublimation?

Many clothing manufacturers and retailers are turning to dye sublimation printing because it provides superior image quality and longevity. Dye sublimation printing uses a heated printhead that can print on a wide range of materials including cotton, polyester, and silk. Inkjet printers and traditional screen-printing techniques don’t work on some of these fabrics, while dye sublimation printing is an ideal solution for the clothing industry.

Direct To Garment

What is Direct-to-Garment?

The concept of direct-to-garment (or DTG) printing is relatively new, but it’s quickly becoming an affordable and successful alternative to traditional mass production techniques like screen printing.

Can Minimal Orders Be Purchased?
Direct to garment printing is a great way to increase your product’s quality without having to invest the money needed to make big batch orders.

The resulting garment is similar to how you would print with conventional dye-sublimation. It’s just that instead of having to use sublimation paper, you’re using a high-tech inkjet printer.

What Fabrics Can Direct To Garment Be Used On?
When you go through the process of direct to garment screen printing, it is important to keep in mind that the substrate being printed onto needs to be cotton or polyester.

Direct to garment printing requires no heat setting process like sublimation, and it doesn’t require pre-treatment of the fabric.

Screen Printing

What is The Screen Printing Process?
Screen printing involves printing designs onto fabric using small dots of ink. The ink is applied with either a squeegee or roller and a vacuum holds the ink in place while the fabric is pressed against the screen.
What Apparel Can Screen Printing Be Used On?
Screen printing can be used on any apparel, however it is perfect for large quantities of t-shirts with few colors. It offers a high quality of prints and fast turnaround. This is because a typical t-shirt design consists of a small number of color choices and usually only one to two different fabrics.

With that said, there are many different variations of screen printing t-shirts. Some common types include flat printing, double-sided printing, and single-sided printing. Each type of printing requires a specific set of screen printing equipment and techniques.

What Are Advantages of Screen Printing?
Screen printing is is a highly customizable, low cost, and fast method of printing graphics on a variety of fabrics similar to silk screening, but instead of using a stencil, the pattern is built from a mesh screen which is coated in ink creating an elevated surface that allows the ink to stick only to the raised areas creating beautiful designs on any fabric.
